MY APPROACH:

I think counseling provides a beautiful opportunity for people to get to know themselves better and learn to live in the freedom and healing they were made for.  I work with children, couples, families and individuals to find the whole, abundant lives I believe we were each made for and can experience.   My heart is to provide a safe place to heal - a place to process the hard parts of life.  While I know that the reality of the world often leaves us living in less-than conditions, I think growth, healing, change, and freedom are possible and my goal is to assist clients on their journeys navigating the chapters that lead to a counselor’s door.

I think healing happens in the light, which means we have to bring things out of the shadows. My goal in interacting with clients is to create a safe, trusting space to let the light in and explore the sources of our pain in order to heal.  I primarily utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and emotion focused therapy (EFT) models to help clients work through their stories and construct new ways of understanding their lives so they can live in the wholeness I believe each person was made for.  Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, relational issues, or something else, my hope is to provide a place where you have someone in your corner working with you to learn new ways of thinking and processing to help you live life with freedom and peace.

Life is messy and has its fair (and unfair) share of difficulties and devastations, but I believe healing and wholeness are possible and available to all who seek it!

MY BACKGROUND:

I am a Hoosier native who fell in love with Colorado the moment I saw the Rocky Mountains!  I spent my initial college years in Indiana and earned my B.A. and J.D. from Indiana University-Bloomington. After a brief stint in Omaha, Nebraska, I moved to Colorado in 2018 and have spent that time working in downtown Denver as a practicing lawyer.  I believe the time I spent in corporate law provides a unique perspective that I bring into the counseling room - I understand the stress, boundary issues, and positional struggles that often happen in demanding workplaces.  I also know first-hand how placing our worth in our achievements and careers can often lead to identity issues and spill over into relational struggles. While law has been very good to me (and I can still nerd out on constitutional law), I am transitioning into counseling because I am so passionate about mental health and know first-hand the powerful healing, freedom, and transformation that can come with the guidance of a good counselor!   I am currently working toward my M.A. in Clinical Counseling through Liberty University.
